Narendra Modi government will get another term: Amit Shah in Patna

Patna, May 11 (UNI): BJP president Amit Shah today held an impressive road show in Patna Sahib constituency seeking votes in favour of party candidate and union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad facing a challenge from sitting MP Shatrughan Sinha contesting on Congress ticket after he was denied opportunity by the BJP to contest from this seat with which he remained associated for decades.

Sinha, who was elected on BJP ticket from Patna Sahib in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, started spewing venom against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for demonetisation and GST, saying both the major decisions were taken without necessary spade work which caused great damage to the economy and also aggravated the suffering of the common man.

BJP facing rebellion attitude of Sinha did not either suspend or expel him from the party but denied him ticket from Patna Sahib in this election and put its weight behind union minister Mr Prasad.

The contest between two-star candidates--Sinha and Prasad has become the cynosure of the country and a great stake of BJP is involved. In such a situation, BJP president Shah himself decided to hold a roadshow in Patna Sahib to boost the prospect of not only Prasad but also the NDA in Bihar in this Lok Sabha elections.

BJP tried its best to project its unity but an important party leader and Rajya Sabha MP R K Sinha, having great clout over a certain section of voters, remained conspicuous by his absence in the roadshow. When asked by reporters, Sinha said he was not invited by party candidate Prasad for the roadshow.

Shah, while leading the roadshow, exhorted the people to extend their overwhelming support to BJP and ensure the formation of Narendra Modi government again at the Centre. The route was selected to send a message across the country that BJP was not at all bothered for Mr Shatrughna Sinha in fray challenging Prasad as the show was originated near the ancestral residence of Sinha.
