Macron’s India visit confirmed: AI, Indo-Pacific and Horizon 2047 talks on agenda
French President Emmanuel Macron will pay a three-day visit to India from February 17 to 19 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday.
According to an official statement issued by the MEA, the two leaders will hold wide-ranging discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors under the Horizon 2047 Roadmap.
“In addition, the leaders will discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in the Indo-Pacific,” the statement said.
During the visit, President Macron and Prime Minister Modi will travel to Mumbai to jointly inaugurate the India–France Year of Innovation, which will be celebrated throughout 2026 in both countries.
On February 19, President Macron is scheduled to participate in the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, the MEA added.
The visit follows Prime Minister Modi’s trip to France in February 2025 and underscores the mutual trust and depth of the India–France Strategic Partnership, as well as the shared commitment of both nations to further deepen bilateral ties.
