Looking for suspected robbers, police, commandos search for eight hours 900 Hyderabad homes

Hyderabad, Jul 5 (IBNS): Police and anti-terrorist commandos of Andhra Pradesh went for a night-long marathon search in nearly 900 homes at a Hyderabad high-rise on Tuesday, looking for a gang that had attempted a daring robbery earlier in the day, media reports said.

According to an NDTV report, the cops and commandos of the elite Octopus - Organisation for Counter Terrorist Operations in Andhra Pradesh - searched apartments at the Happy Homes Towers in the city's Rajender Nagar area.

They were reportedly  looking for at least seven men who had tried to rob a Muthoot Finance office.

According to reports, a CCTV footage shows the  the gun-wielding barge inside the office. After one of the employees pressed an emergency alarm, the gang was forced to leave the place hastily without executing  their plan for a robbery.

The SUV used in the attempted robbery was found at the Happy Homes Towers, which prompted the police and commandos to go for a massive search at the residential complex.

Later, The suspects are seen in footage from three CCTVs in the complex.

The watchman of the building reportedly told police that he had noticed some men breaking the number plate of the vehicle parked near one of the towers. When he raised an alarm, the men ran away.

A bag, a big blade and a hunting axe were reportedly seized from the car, a Chevrolet Tavera.
