Kolkata, Mar 5 (IBNS): A three-year old girl was allegedly raped inside a bus in the city on Monday, media reports said.

The girl was raped by a bus cleaner inside a parked luxury bus.

The incident had occurred at Canal (West) Road in the city.

The accused Sheikh Munna (45) has been arrested by the police.

Munna reportedly offered the girl a chocolate and brought her inside the bus.

The girl's brother, who got notice of the incident, banged the bus door, pleading the accused to leave her.

The girl's brother had later informed his mother about the incident.

The victim's mother had alerted her neighbours and rescued the girl.

The girl was rushed to the RG Kar Medical College where she received medical treatment.

One senior doctor told NDTV, "She had bled profusely but her condition has improved since last night and possibly she will survive. Signs are clear that she had been brutalised."

"We are waiting for the report of the tests conducted on the girl to confirm rape. We are questioning the accused and our forensic experts have collected samples from the spot where the alleged incident took place" the officer added.
