Kolkata flyover tragedy: High Court seeks report from WB govt.

| | Apr 08, 2016, at 06:50 pm
Kolkata, Apr 8 (IBNS): The Calcutta High Court on Friday asked the West Bengal government to file a detailed report in next three weeks on the recent flyover collapse incident in the city.

While hearing several Public Interest Litigations (PIL), which were filed demanding probe into the matter, a division bench led by Calcutta HC's Chief Justice Manjulla Chellur passed the directive.

On Mar 31, the under- construction Vivekananda Flyover collapsed in Kolkata's Girish Park area, killing at least 26 people and leaving many  injured.

Ten officials and engineers of Hyderabad-based construction farm IVRCL, which was building the flyover, have been arrested so far, in connection with the incident.
