Kerala police officer commits suicide after suspension

Thiruvantapuram, Nov 28 (IBNS) A police officer has allegedly committed suicide after being put on suspension over circulating pictures on WhatsApp, reports said.

The officer, A P Shaji, was suspended after he posted an obscene picture on a WhatsApp group that had his senior officials as well as women.

The officer had earlier explained to authorities that he sent the obscene picture accidentally, but the seniors felt that he should have been more careful as he himself was an officer. Hence, he was put under suspension for the alleged act.

Kerala Police has ordered an enquiry into the incident.
