Srinagar/UNI: Two unidentified militants were killed by security forces in an encounter in Srinagar on Friday, police said.

A Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched by Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, CRPF and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in the wee hours of Friday at Alamdar Colony Danmar in Srinagar following a tip off about the presence of militants, a police spokesman said.

He said security forces after sealing all exit points were moving towards a particular area when militants, hiding there, opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons.
