Indian soldier body mutilation: Indian DGMO calls Pak counterpart
The Pakistani DGMO was also apprised that while undertaking this dastardly act full fire support was provided by Pakistani Army Post located in vicinity of the incident site, read a government statement.
He also raised concerns regarding presence of BAT training camps and teams in close vicinity of Line of Control in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
DGMO Indian Army conveyed that such inhuman act is beyond any norms of civility and merits unequivocal condemnation and response.
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Pakistan situation while the Director General of Military Operations spoke to his counterpart as tension in the bilateral relation rose to a new height after Monday's Pak attack in Poonch LoC in which two Indian soldiers were killed and their bodies mutilated.
According to reports, Jaitley said India will respond fittingly to the "barbaric act."
India’s DGMO Lt. Gen A K Bhatt said that the act was “inhumane” and would draw an “unequivocal response”.
The DGMO conveyed to his Pakistan counterpart the concern about the presence of BAT training camps in close vicinity of the LC in PoK.
"He conveyed that such "dastardly and inhuman act is beyond any norms of civility and merits unequivocal condemnation and response," a statement issued by the Armysaid.
The Indian soldiers- Naik Subeider Paramjit Singh of the Indian Army and BSF Head constable Prem Sagar were beheaded by Border Action Team (BAT) that came 200 metres inside the Indian territory while carrying out attacks on Indian posts.
BSF Additional Director General Kamal Nayan Choubey on Tuesday said the BAT team comprised army regulars and terrorists.
He said the attack came in the form of an ambush.
Meanwhile, the bodies of Paramjit Singh and Prem Sagar were taken to their homes respectively in Punjab TarnTaran and Uttar Pradesh's Deoria after the martyrs were given farewell by the forces.
According to media reports, family members of late Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh initially refused to cremate him until his head is returned to them.
Reports said Paramjit Kaur, the wife of late Subedar Paramjit Singh, demanded the Indian government to bring her husband's severed head only then he will be cremated.
However, the family later agreed to cremate Singh after much persuasion by Army and government officials.
