New Delhi: India and China have completed a key standoff area in eastern Ladakh, according to government sources.

This process started on September 8 after a consensus was reached in the 16th round of military talks, the two countries said in a joint statement this evening.

"On 08 September 2022, according to the consensus reached in the 16th round of India China Corps Commander Level Meeting, the Indian and Chinese troops in the area of Gogra-Hot Springs (PP-15) have begun to disengage in a coordinated and planned way, which is conducive to the peace and tranquility in the border areas," a joint statement issued by China and India on Thursday (Sept 8) read.

Both the armies had agreed to withdraw from their positions to their respective positions on their sides and verify each others' positions after that.

With this, the two sides have resolved all the friction points that came up after May 2020 Chinese aggression.
