Honeypreet Insan in six day police custody

Chandigarh, Oct 4 (IBNS): Honeypreet Insan has been sent to a six-day police custody for interrogation, according to media reports on Wednesday.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's close aide and self-proclaimed “adopted daughter” was charged with sedition and inciting violence by a Panchkula court on Wednesday.

Honeypreet, in her mid-30s, was on the run since August 25, the day Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief  Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in two rape cases. She finally surrendered at Mohali police station, media reported.

On Wednesday, at the court, Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, pleaded that she was innocent, according to media reports.
