Hardcore NDFB(S) militant nab in Kokrajhar

Guwahati, Feb 4 (IBNS) : Security forces have apprehended a hardcore militant belonging to NDFB(S) from Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Thursday, officials said.

Based on specific information, troops of the Army and the Assam Police had launched operation on Thursday morning at Gorebil village in Kokrajhar Districtand nabbed the militant.

The nabbed militant was identified as Lothen Basumatary alias Birai.

“He is wanted by the Police in relation to the December 14 Adivasi carnage and is a self styled Section Commander of the outfit group,” a top police official said.

Security forces had recovered one 7.65mm Pistol and some ammunition in possession from him.
