Gogoi seeks PM intervention to oust Assam Governor

Guwahati, Nov 30 (IBNS): Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday again raised the issue of Governor PB Acharya removal and urged to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take initiative into the issue.

After writing to the President, Gogoi said he would raise the issue with the PM.

“I will take up the matter with PM and request him to remove Acharya as soon as possible. Assam wants a permanent Governor,” Gogoi said in a press conference held in Guwahati.

“Acharya converted the Raj Bawan to a BJP office and he misused his constitutional power. He worked like a RSS pracharak,” the Assam CM said.

On Nov 28, the Assam CM sent a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee and sought his immediate intervention into the issue of Acharya removal.

On Nov 21, the Nagaland and Assam Governor PB Acharya said that “Hindustan is for Hindus”.

Next day he tried to clarify his statement and again said that “Indian muslims are free to go Pakistan”, which sparked across the country.

Apart from Gogoi, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee also demanded to oust Acharya immediately.
