Four pilgrims from Maharashtra die, 2 injured in Uttarakhand

Mumbai: Four pilgrims from Maharashtra, who went on a pilgrimage to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, died in a horrific road accident.

While, two others were injured.

A group of pilgrims from Palghar district of Maharashtra had gone to Rishikesh on a pilgrimage, where four of them died in terrible road accident involving their vehicle on Friday last.

The deceased were identified as Jitesh Lokhande (43, of Manor), Dharmaraj Khatekar (40, of Vasai), Purushottam Khilkhuti (37), Shivaji Budhkar (53, of Dahisar).

Upon getting information of the incident, Sachin Joshi, a colleague of the Chief Minister, immediately informed him.

CM Shinde immediately contacted the authorities in Uttarakhand and arranged treatment facilities for the injured at AIIMS Hospital in Rishikesh.

Not only this, he also contacted the hospital administration and took information about the treatment of the injured.

After the post-mortem and completion of other formalities of the accident victims, their bodies were brought to Delhi airport the same night and from there they were flown to Mumbai in early hours of the morning, after which they were handed over to their relatives.
