Kolkata, Nov 19 (IBNS) A division bench of the Calcutta high court on Thursday cancelled the bail of Saradha scam accused Madan Mitra, a day after he resigned as the transport minister of West Bengal.

He has been directed to surrender immediagtely.

Mitra stepped down  after the Central Bureau of Investigation cited his continuance in the state cabinet as a proof of his influence.

His  resignation was accepted by chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday.

Mitra was granted bail by a lower court on October 31, nearly 11 months after his arrest on December 12 last year. The court directed him to be interned in his home under police surveillance.
