Finance commission forms group to decide on separate mechanism of funding for armed forces

New Delhi/IBNS: The Fifteenth Finance Commission has constituted a Group on Defence and Internal Security, government said in a statement.

The group has been formed 'to examine whether a separate mechanism for funding of defence and internal security ought to be set up, and if so, how such a mechanism could be operationalised’, the statement said.

The group will consist of N.K. Singh, Chairman, Fifteenth finance Commission, A. N. Jha(Member) Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs(Member), Secretary of Ministry of Defence(Member), Secretary(Expenditure) of Ministry of Finance (Member).
