Fake Delhi Police crime branch officer nabbed in Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 31 (IBNS): A fake Delhi Police crime branch officer with fake identify card was arrested in Kolkata on Wednesday night, reports said on Thursday.

According to reports, the fake officer- Debraj Majumder alias Sujan- was spotted by Kolkata Police officers in front of a hotel at Park Street area on Wednesday night while he was threatening few men.

When Kolkata Police officers challenged him, Debraj told them that he was a DSP of Delhi Police's crime branch and also showed his identity card to them.

However, he was detained and taken to Park Street Police Station nearby where he confessed, during an interrogation, that he was a fake police officer.

Police arrested Debraj Majumder, who is a resident of Salt Lake EC Block, and seized a vehicle with blue light, which was being used by him.

However, police have started investigation into the case.
