Ex-servicemen rally held at Mangaldoi

Guwahati, Dec 13 (IBNS) : Army Camp Chapai under Red Horns Division had organised an ex-servicemen Rally on Sunday at Zilla Sainik Board, Mangaldoi.

1200 ex-servicemen, veer naris and war veterans of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force hailing from Darrang and Udalguri district were attended in the rally.

The rally was specially aimed to ex-servicemen, war veterans, disabled soldiers and war widows (Veer Naris) and their next of kin to show that army cares and deems them to be part of the larger Armed forces family even in their post retired lives.

Maj Gen CP Mohanty, SM, VSM, GOC Red Horns Division was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The rally provided an interactive platform and mitigated issues related to pension, medical healthcare, re-employment and readdressal of grievances.

Representatives from ECHS, District Sainik Welfare Board, Banks, PCDA Allahabad had established their counter for ‘On the Spot’ redressal and established booths to make them aware of latest welfare schemes and benefits available for ESM and their dependents.

Veterans and veer naris were felicitated on the occasion.

A cultural programme by local artists enthralled the audience.

Meanwhile, a medical camp was setup with attending specialists to provide free medical check-up and medicines.
