New Delhi, Mar 3 (IBNS): With the BJP sweeping in Northeast, including a historic win in Tripura, party President Amit Shah welcomed the outcome of the Assembly polls results and said it reflected that people have accepted the developmental policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a press conference, an elated Shah said: "People of North East have accepted the developmental policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

He thanked people of the three states for the results of the elections held recently.

"It’s a proud moment for all of us. I want to thank the people of Meghalaya, Tripura & Nagaland for reposing their faith in their PM,"  he said.

"I thank brothers and sisters of Tripura for their massive support to the BJP. This is the victory for Modi’s politics of development and his commitment to the welfare of northeastern region of India," he said.

Shah said the thought that BJP is restricted only to Hindi states has been proved wrong with the result in the three north-eastern states.

"Earlier, it was believed that BJP is restricted to the Hindi belt. Today's results have shown that the claim is not true," he said.

Attacking Left after dismantling its government in Tripura, Shah said: " It has been proved now that the Left is not right for any part of India."

With Assembly polls in Karnataka to be held in the upcoming days, Shah said his party will march towards the state with massive victories in its belt.

"We will march towards Karnataka, with this massive victory with us," Shah said.

"Mandate after mandate has been in the favor of Narendra Modi Ji and his government," Shah said.

BJP registered victory in Nagaland and Tripura.

The party performed strong in Meghalaya and might play the role of a game changer in the state which is heading towards a hung assembly.
