Election Commission removes Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar
Kolkata, Apr 12 (IBNS): Ahead of assembly polls in Kolkata, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday replaced city's police commissioner Rajeev Kumar by senior IPS officer Soumen Mitra, sources confirmed.
Soumen Mitra was the ADG of West Bengal Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Ramphal Power becomes the new ADG of CID.
Rajeev Kumar, however, has been transferred to the post of WB Anti Corruption Bureau's ADG, ECI sources said.
