DMK chief Karunanidhi appears before court in case by Jayalalithaa
Chennai, Jan 18 (IBNS) DMK supremo M Karunanidhi on Monday appeared personally in the court in connection with a defamation case filed by his political rival, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, even as the case was adjourned till March 3.
The DMK architect arrived in court accompanied by his daughter Kanimozhi and younger son MK Stalin.
The case has been adjourned till Mach 3, said reports.
Earlier in a statement, Karunanidhi had said that the case is an attempt " to threaten publications that don't support the ruling AIADMK."
Karunanidhi, 92, has been sued by Jayalalithaa for republication of a newspaper article in DMK mouthpiece Murasoli.
Jayalalithaa, 67, alleges that the article defames her.
