Digital Gujarat: QR code scanner to help pilgrims locate their little ones

This facility was made functional during the Bhadarvi Poonam fair held at Ambaji Dham.

Under this project, every child will be wearing a QR-code card around the neck.

The code will be unique to each child, and the data of the individual's parents with the mobile number will be fed in it.

Two girls from Mahisagar were successfully reunited with their parents through this digital initiative.

This initiative is a result of the collaborative efforts of telecom major Vodafone-Idea with the Banaskantha district administration.

Neha Prajapati, a devotee, who is visiting the temple with her family on foot said, “It is a special moment for everyone as the fair is being organised for the first time after COVID-19. Four lane roads have ensured that pilgrims, on foot, do not face any major hurdles.

Apart from QR code scan and Matrimilan project, other facilities made available through 'Seva Camps' to devotees enroute to Ambaji include tea-coffee, medical facilities, and accommodation.

CRDF has also worked on multiple facilities on the premises such as parking facility design, and announcement system.

To provide better facilities to pilgrims, the Pavitra Yatradham Board in association with CRDF (CEPT Research and Development Foundation), conducted a mapping of the temple premises to ensure that necessary arrangements are in place for tourists.

This six-day Mahamela will run till Sept. 10.
