New Delhi/UNI: The Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) is one of the most accident prone cities in the country with the highest number of accidents.

Mumbai takes second place.

Most road accidents were caused by carelessness of the drivers, according to a recent survey.

However, animal crossing, rough roads, potholes, rash driving and drunken driving are other causes.

The accident rate in Delhi is 20.3 percent and in Mumbai 18.2 percent. The reasons for these accidents are also the same in both the cities.

Among the metro cities, Bengaluru has an accident rate of 16 percent.

Chennai recorded the highest number of accidents at three percent due to animals.

It was two percent in Delhi and Bangalore.

A total of 58.4 percent accidents in metros were caused by dogs, followed by 25.4 percent by cows.
