Curfew in imphal as clashes leave 33 injured

Imphal, Apr 12 (IBNS) Curfew has been imposed in Imphal west after the clash between two communities that left 33, including three policemen injured, reports said.

The clashes occurred at Mayang Imphal in Imphal West district on Monday between people belonging to two different religions.  

Nine houses and shops were torched during the clashes.

Fire tenders and the police rushed to the spot but the protesting crowd did not allow them to enter. 

 Police are investigating the incident. 

Additional police forces from three other districts have been rushed there to maintain law and order
