Islamabad, Aug 15 (IBNS): Violent clashes erupted in Pakistan on Friday after a convoy of protesters, heading to the capital Islamabad, led by opposition politician Imran Khan was shot at.
Khan's party reportedly said his vehicle was shot at but he was not hurt.

"This is the gang of PML(n) goons on top of a police van, firing and pelting stones on PTI workers as well as Chairman Imran khan," Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) posted on its Facebook page.

PTI chief head Imran Khan commenced his Azadi March (independence march) from Lahore to Islamabad on Thursday.

Khan's party wants Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign.

Anti-government cleric Tahirul Qadri is leading another protest march to Islamabad.
