Chennai: CBI raids P Chidambaram's residence

Chennai, May 16 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation conducted raids at the residences of ex-Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram here on Tuesday, media reports said.

According to sources, the raids began early morning, reports Hindustan Times.

Karti Chidambaram is facing money laundering probe in connection with the Aircel-Maxis deal.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in April had issued show-cause notice to Karti over alleged violations of the FEMA laws .

P Chidambaram had served as the Finance Minister during the tenure of the UPA government.
