New Delhi, Oct 4 (IBNS): A CCTV footage has revealed that an attack on a Delhi Police constable was what prompted a CISF officer to fire in the air, according to media reports on Wednesday.

The incident took place late in the evening on Monday at the Azadpur Metro Station of Delhi.

On Monday evening, two men were were brought to the control office of the metro station by CISF jawans for getting into a heated argument at the ticket counter and creating trouble.

It was alleged that a group of people, reportedly accomplices of one of the two men, attacked Delhi Police constable M L Meena, who was taking the two to the Kashmere Gate police station, media reported.

CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohammed Umar then fired in the air to control the crowd, the media quoted the security personnel as saying.

Senior officers are examining the video footage to decide on further course of action.
