Kolkata, Jun 10 (UNI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporter Somotul Dolui (35), a resident of Anulia village under Udaynarayanpur, Howrah, was found murdered on a field on Monday afternoon, near his house, police investigating the crime said.

Eyewitnesses said the victim had raised the slogan "Jay Shree Ram" several times on Monday morning and last night before he was found dead on the field.

The relatives of the victim accused the TMC of committing the crime, which was denied.

Police also said the situation toughened when they came to take the body for post mortem at Amta. Local people resisted them from taking the body.

However, the combat force came and took the body away for an autopsy.
