BJP president Amit Shah congratulates Sonowal, post Assam polls

New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS) BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday congratulated Sarbananda Sonowal, BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate, after the party recorded a substantial lead and is on its way to form the next government in Assam.

"Congratulations to PM @narendramodi ,Sh @sarbanandsonwal ,Sh @himantabiswa, other state leaders & karyakartas for emphatic victory in Assam," Shah said.

Assam, a predominant Congress state, will for the first time be ruled by the BJP.

Shah also lauded the hard work of BJP workers for their results across all states.

"Congratulations to Karyakartas & leaders of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Puducherry for their hardwork leading to excellent results. The unmatched efforts & sacrifice of our karyakartas in Kerala,West Bengal & Tamil Nadu has established a strong party base in these states."
