BJP holds programme protesting law violation in Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 22 (IBNS): Protesting against the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, the Kolkata unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a law violation programme on Tuesday in the city.
Very few BJP supporters took part in the event where no such top leader of the party was present.
 
When police stopped them by setting up barricades, protesters engaged in a scuffle with the police force.
 
The BJP also held another law violation programme in West Bengal's Bankura district on Tuesday and engaged in a scuffle with the police force.
 
However, no unwanted situation was reported in the both incident.
 
Meanwhile, protesting against the police action during its law violation programme at Raiganj on Monday, the BJP on Tuesday observed a 12-hour-long strike in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal.
 
Bandh-supporters forcefully closed few shops and ATMs there and vandalized few cars, buses and trucks. They allegedly set a state-owned bus on fire. Police arrested few supporters for creating violence.
 
The BJP held a law violation programme at Raiganj on Monday where protesters clashed with the police.
 
Few protesters including BJP leader Ritesh Tiwari and party's North Dinajpur district president Subhra Roy Chowdury, few policemen and at least two journalists were injured in the clash.
 
Police arrested 35 BJP supporters including party's leader Ritesh Tiwary. They were produced in a local court on Tuesday and sent to judicial custody for one day.
