BJP candidate Roopa Ganguly surrenders before Howrah CJM court, granted bail

Kolkata, Apr 29 (IBNS) BJP leader and candidate for the party's Assembly polls Roopa Ganguly surrendered before the Howrah CJM court in connection with a case related to the alleged assault of a TMC woman activist in front of a polling station in Howrah on Apr 25.

Ganguly was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs. 500.

She allegedly assaulted the activist in front of a polling station in North Howrah constituency on Apr 25 during the fourth phase of polling in the state to elect a new Assembly.

That lady lodged an FIR under IPC section 354 in Malipanchghara PS, against Roopa Ganguly.

Court has directed the actress-turned-politician to present herself in the court again on May 13.
