Bihar: Six killed, 20 others injured in road mishap

Siwan, May 13 (UNI) Six people, including two women were killed, and 20 others injured when their bus overturned near Amlauri Sarsar B. Ed. College under Mufassil police station area in Siwan district today.

Police said that the accident took place when one of the front tyres of the private bus suddenly punctured. Sources said the ill-fated bus was on way to Siwan from Gopalganj.

The deceased were identified bus cleaner Jakir (25), Komal Kumar (30), Mantu Kumar (29) and Nirmala Devi (25). Identities of two other deceased were yet unknown.

Police said that 20 passengers were injured in the mishap.

Eight of them were rushed Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of their critical condition.

Sources said 12 other injured passengers were undergoing treatment at Siwan Sadar Hospital.

The bus driver made good his escape from the spot after the accident.
