Babri demolition : L K Advani arrives at Lucknow court

Lucknow, May 30 (IBNS) : Veteran BJP leader L K Advani on Tuesday, arrived at a Lucknow court on being summoned for framing of conspiracy charges in connection with the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition case, reports said.

Union Minister Uma Bharti and Murli Manohar Joshi were also ordered to appear by a special CBI court.

The Supreme Court had last month allowed restoration of conspiracy charges against BJP leaders including L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, making them to face trial.

Earlier, conspiracy charges against them were dropped by a special CBI Court in 2001,

Before being implicated in conspiracy behind the demolition of Babri masjid, these leaders were only facing a trial for making provocative speeches from a platform near the mosque before it was pulled down by the volunteers owing allegiance to Hindutva forces.

The Supreme Court has asked the special court to frame fresh charges against Advani and a dozen other leaders within one month and deliver its verdict within two years.
