Assam Rifles nab two militants with arms in Nagaland

Guwahati, Aug 1 (IBNS): Security forces apprehended two militants including a hardcore militant of banned NSCN (K) with arms in Nagaland on Wednesday.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(N) conducted an operation in general area Dalai Gate, Dimapur, along with a police representative.

During the search operation, security personnel apprehended a NSCN (K) militant.

The nabbed militant was identified as Asheto Sema and security personnel recovered one 9 mm factory made pistol with magazine, live ammunition and  Rs 2630 cash in possession from him.

The nabbed militant along with the recovered items was handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.

On the other hand, the troops of 36 Assam Rifles and police apprehended a NSCN (KN) militant at Athibung area.

The nabbed militant was identified as Daniel and security forces recovered one point 22mm country made pistol in possession from him. 

“The militant has been actively involved in tax collection as Chief Guard Duty at Athibung. Later, the apprehendee along with the recovered item was handed over to Athibung Police Station for further investigation,” an Assam Rifles official said.
