After Bloom, Rahat gets deported from India

| | Jan 01, 2016, at 06:21 pm
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (IBNS) After British actor Orlando Bloom was deported from the New Delhi Airport, Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan shared the same fate as the crooner was deported back to Abu Dhabi from the Hyderabad airport on Thursday morning.

If Bloom's e-visa was rejected by the officials, Rahat was barred entry due to a technical flaw.

According to an RGIA (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport) official, a Pakistani citizen can only enter India through the valid check points, and they are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, the four metros.

The official was quoted by TOI as saying, "If a Pakistani national enters through any other airport, except the four metros, his/her travel to India cannot be recorded. So it is mandatory that they stick to the four ports. This system has been put in place to monitor the movement of Pakistani nationals in and out of the country."

Rahat, who was in India to perform in a concert, had to cancel the show owing to his deportation.
