After Act of God comment, IVRCL officials hint at bomb blast

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (IBNS) After the under-construction Vivekananda Setu in Kolkata's Girish park area collapsed on Thursday, claiming at least 23 lives and leaving many more injured, IVRCL officials, whose company had undertaken the construction work, let out yet another outrageous remark of a possible bomb blast being responsible for the structural collapse.

The company officials have already drawn a lot of flak for airing an equally outrageous remark about divine intervention when asked why the slab collapsed on Thursday

Hosting a press conference on Friday, two officials from the company said that they are unaware of why such an accident took place but would love to know as it will help them.

When asked about the 'Act of God' comment, they said that it was just an expression and nothing more.

"It was an expression to state that the mishap was out of everyone's control, no one had a role to play there," an official said.

"We are in a state of shock just as the whole nation," the official said.

They said that they are unaware of any investigation going on.

"We are not aware of any such thing."

The officials said that they too are anxious to find out the fault.

"We have used the same materials to build 59 such slabs, but why did the 60th one collapsed we don not know."
