Aadhaar Updation Center inaugurated at Bidhannagar CC Block Post Office

Kolkata, Oct 13 (IBNS): An Aadhaar updation centre has been inaugurated on Friday at Bidhannagar CC Block Post Office in Salt Lake to extend Aadhaar updation facilities to local people through post office.

Inaugurating the facility, Chief Post Master General, West Bengal Circle, Arundhaty Ghosh said that Aadhaar Updation Center  in post offices is a unique initiative taken by the Union Government.

It will cater to the needs of people for rectification of erroneous entries in their Aadhaar cards and for updation and necessary corrections in demographic data such as name, address, date of birth, telephone number etc. against a nominal charge of Rs 25 per card, Ghosh added.

This facility has been extended to 23 post offices in West Bengal Circle making accessible for people to update their Aadhaar information. A new Aadhaar Updation Center would be inaugurated next month in New Town as well.

J. Charukesi, Postmaster General, Kolkata Region was also present on the occasion.
