Kolkata, Sep 2 (IBNS):  Women, Water and Workmanship is the theme for  WADE ASIA's 2019 annual conference & awards event, which will be held in October this year in New Delhi.

The full form of WADE is World Women Architects Artists Designers and Engineers Ecosystem.

WADE ASIA is a dedicated collective platform for women architects, interior designers, artists and engineers in Asia.

According to the organisers, this two-day conference is a ground for aspiring and established entrepreneurs, founders of young firms, artists, designers, students and professionals who are looking for inspiration, and opportunity to meet & connect with stalwarts who have made it possible.

This year, some of the key speakers include veteran architect Shirish Beri, Bharata Natyam dancer Padma Shri Prathibha Prahlad, Chitra Vishwanath known for sustainability, and activist Mittal Patel whose organisation has deepened 87 village lakes in 45 villages with people’s participation.

Said Vertica Dvivedi, founder of WADE ASIA, “Women are central to WADE, created to celebrate and recognise women-led designs & development in Asia."

WADE awards are limited to women. However, WADE Conference, Exhibition and Innovations are open to all.

"At this critical juncture, when the world is reeling under water issues, we couldn’t but pick up ‘water’ as the theme for WADE ASIA 2019 to spread awareness about preservation, conservation and restoration of water and water bodies. WADE ASIA is an event dedicated to promote true talents and craftsmanship. Thus 'workmanship’ will be the focus of WADE Workshops, WADE Design Galore, and Matecia Material Innovation. Overall, an exciting show and serious conference awaits the visitors of WADE ASIA,” said Dvivedi

Other programmes at WADE ASIA 2019 include a series of inspiring talks, MasterClass with Mentors 4.0, a question & answer session with women leaders in Architecture, Art, Construction, Engineering and Design.

More than 2000 visitors from across India and delegates from Dubai, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Singapore, Bhutan, etc, are expected to attend WADE ASIA.

The event will be held on October 11 and 12, at NSIC Grounds Okhla, New Delhi.
