Titan Eyeplus hosts Optometry Challenge Shield

Kolkata, Mar 11 (IBNS): Indian eyewear retail chain Titan Eyeplus organized the grand finale of Titan Eyeplus Shield Optometry Challenge-2015 on Tuesday in Kolkata.

Titan Eyeplus Shield Optometry Challenge, an inter college competition for the 2nd and 3rd years' undergraduate students of Optometry across Eastern India, started in the last month.

The qualifying rounds were held across eight optometry colleges in eastern India where 500 students had participated.

After the qualifying rounds, 75 students were selected for the higher level of the competition.

After the final round on Tuesday, Bhaskar Bhat announced the name of the winners.

Getting 99 points out of hundred, Arijit Maity from Vidyasagar College of Optometry and Vision Science became the champion of the contest.

Anil Kumar Mahato (91 points) from NSHM College of Management and Technology and Ananya Basu (89.5 points) from Pailan College of Management and Technology became the 1st and 2nd runner ups respectively.

Titan Eyeplus authorities said that the competition was organized to interact and to build relationships with the future optometrists and to share the trends and requirements of the eyewear industry.

Managing director of Titan Company Ltd Bhaskar Bhat, Chief Human Resource Officer of Titan Raj Narayan, Regional Business Head (East) and Associate Vice President of Titan Rajeshwari Srinivasan and Regional Business Manager (East) of Titan Eyewear Santosh S were present at the event.


Bhaskar Bhat told IBNS that they has plans to organize this competition in the other regions of India.

"Sun rises in the east and hence this is the beginning. We have plans to spread this competition across India," he said.
