Mumbai, Aug 29 (IBNS): Heavenly and delightful were the two words that rightly described 'Pilgrimage', the experimental installation that was introduced by Eina Ahluwalia at Jabong Stage during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.

It was a successful definition of women’s empowerment and independence.

The designer created artistic anomaly that showed self-respect and admiration that every woman should hold dear to herself. The installation showcased mythological inspirations. It also spoke of the very core of every being and looked at the source of it all, which is the universe. Its structure was presented in geometrical patterns that related to the energy of the physical and spiritual world.

The mood was set for purity, with a temple gong giving the impression of the body being the temple and the need to respect it. The mystical beings that were present in the installation were Altars of Venus Mother Goddess – Venus of Yullyevich, Venus of Willendorf, Venus of Dolni Vestonice and Venus of Hohie Fels, Seraph and Sirena.

The Venus Goddess symbolised fertility, femininity and longevity. It talked about transmutation of all things perfect in today’s word like epilators, make-up; extremely padded push-up bras, shape wear and 10 inch heels, thus, becoming the perfect representation for the crucial cause of the collection. The jewellery like cutwork necklaces, earrings and gold plated necklaces with human faces meticulously crafted on them were adorned by models sitting, gazing and gossiping about the audience.

These intricately intertwined designs accentuated the inner beauty of the one who wears it like any precious objet d’art.

Seraph, the six winged angel was at the epitome of Angel hierarchy and played its part in the form of aspiration and glory to rise high. Sirena, the Greek mythological creature was an alluring combination of head and chest of woman and body of a bird. The enchantress defined harmony and divine joy and happiness. Serina’s song chanting positive vibes was heard by the viewers through headphones.

These installations were set on an amalgamation of different isles and gold framework that was an integral part of the collection.

‘Pilgrimage’ by Eina Ahluwalia transfixed the audience and took them to a blissful place where it called upon the inner strength that has to be nurtured.
