Kolkata observes 'The International Day for Peace'

Kolkata, Sept 21 (IBNS) Kolkata joined the rest of the world in observing 'The International Day of Peace'.

With a mission to generate the public awareness about the world peace Youth Peace Foundation in association with Raj Vidya Kender on Sunday celebrated the International day of Peace at Bhasha Bhawan Auditorium Hall in Kolkata’s National Library.

On this occassion a rally “Walk For Peace” was being organized which started at 10.45 am from National Library.

P Y Rajendra Kumar, Director General, National Library flagged off the walk.

More than 200 participants took part in the walk.

The “Walk for Peace” was followed by Cultural programme where a Youth Band “Ekalavya” performed on different tune to spread the peace among the gathering present to celebrate the day of peace.

Speaking on the occasion, Arun Kumar Khandelia, The Chairman, Institute of Company Secretaries of India (EIRC) said, “Thanks to  Youth Peace Foundation and Raj Vidya Kender for organizing Walk For Peace to inspire the youth mass building a culture of peace in the world. In the rapidly life where study, work and Technology are constantly challenging them, the youth mass have very little time to consider their own peace and wellbeing.”
