Kolkata: Guv inaugurates new gallery at Tagore's house

Kolkata, Feb 7 (IBNS): West Bengal Governor Keshrinath Tripathi on Saturday inaugurated the 'Rabindranath and the US' gallery at Rabindra Bharati Museum in Kolkata.

The US Consul General in Kolkata Helen LaFave, Minister Counselor for Public Affairs of New Delhi US Embassy Walter Douglas, Vice-Chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University Sabyasachi Basu Roy Chaudhury were present at the inaugural ceremony.

Inaugurating the gallery Tripathi said, "This gallery is a symbol of Indo-US friendship."

The students of Rabindra Bharati University arranged a welcome song for the guests.

'Rabindranath and the US' gallery will provide visitors a comprehensive overview on the five United States visits of world bard Rabindranath Tagore in the first half of the 20'th century.
