Kolkata/IBNS: JW Lounge, the cafe at JW Marriott Kolkata, will host a 'Croissant Festival', which includes an array of savory and sweet croissant and sandwiches.

While the famous and greatly loved 'croissant' was given its name by the French, the origin of this buttery, flaky pastry is said to have been in Austria.

The festival begins on January 30, which is also celebrated across the world as International Croissant Day.

The menu features “Baked Croissant Sandwich with Salmon”, the classic “Croque Monsieur Croissant”, “Bocconcini & Sweet Basil in Charcol Croissant”, among the savoury choices and “Raspberry Croissant”, “Praline Croffin”, and “Charcol Croissant” among the sweet selection.

The set of pastries curated by JW Lounge also includes choices such as “Paneer Tikka Croissant Sandwich” and “Iranian Pistachio Enrobed Croissant”.

The plain croissants are pegged at Rs 235, vegetarian croissants at Rs 354, and non-vegetarian croissants at Rs 425.

The Croissant Festival is on till February 23, 2020.
