A recent post on X has caught widespread attention after revealing the story of a man who reportedly turned down a job offer from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to start a rice distribution business that now earns him around ₹25 lakh annually.

The story was shared by X user Ankit Pandey, who said his friend faced intense criticism for rejecting the security of a corporate job in favor of launching his own venture.

"My friend got a placement at TCS. He rejected it. Everyone said he was making the biggest mistake of his life," Pandey wrote on X.

"Today, he earns around ₹25 lakh a year selling rice," he added.

Explaining his friend's business model, Pandey said the entrepreneur purchases rice directly from farmers, gets it cleaned and packaged under his own brand, and supplies it to nearly 200 retail stores.

"He supplies around 200 quintals (20,000 kg) of rice every month," Pandey wrote.

The post triggered a lively debate online over whether corporate jobs still represent the safest and most rewarding career path.

One user commented, "Bro, life works on a very simple rule: the bigger the risk, the bigger the profit. He took the biggest risk of his life, and now it's paying off."

Another wrote, "Degree or not, owning your distribution and building a real-economy supply chain will beat a standard corporate salary every single time."

A third user remarked, "Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone, but this is inspiring."
