Mumbai, Aug 25 (IBNS): Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) has been voted as the 'Best Metro Airport' at the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) awards held in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The esteemed award, presented by Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, was conferred to CSIA in recognition of its efforts to offer comfort and convenience to all travellers through its infrastructure.

CSIA was adjudged the “Best Metro Airport” on the basis of a poll conducted by APAI, where passengers from across the country participated in the survey.

The grand event, hosted by APAI in the national capital, witnessed the presence of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Ram Vilas Paswan, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and other key members from the political fraternity.

Established in 1990, the Air Passengers Association of India (APAI) is the country’s only national, non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the air passenger and plays a very important role in the development of the aviation industry.
