Apple iPhone Duo pre-orders begin today: Check features, display, camera and more

Describing the device, the tech giant said the iPhone Duo features its largest-ever iPhone display in a foldable design.

When unfolded, the device is the thinnest iPhone ever, featuring an inner display that is 50 per cent larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The expansive screen offers more space for viewing content, gaming and multitasking.

When folded, the iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch outer display that delivers 90 per cent of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro in a compact, pocket-friendly design. Apple said the device is built for durability and features a precision-engineered hinge designed to deliver a smooth and seamless folding experience.

Powered by the A20 Pro chip, the iPhone Duo promises professional-grade performance and features a dual-battery architecture designed to deliver all-day battery life. The device runs on iOS 27, which Apple has redesigned to retain its familiar interface while adapting to the different ways users can interact with a foldable iPhone.

The iPhone Duo also integrates Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence, bringing AI capabilities and personal context together while prioritising privacy and security, the company said.

Customers shopping for the iPhone Duo online or at Apple Stores can seek personalised assistance from Apple Specialists. Support includes guidance on payment and financing options, trade-in offers and product protection through AppleCare+ or AppleCare One.

Customers can also opt for home delivery or arrange to collect their devices from a local Apple Store at a convenient time.

Ways to Save When Buying Directly From Apple

Apple is offering customers several payment options when upgrading to the iPhone Duo, including financing plans and trade-in offers.

Through Apple Trade In, customers can receive instant credit for eligible devices, including the iPhone 13 and newer models. Apple said the programme allows customers to reduce the cost of upgrading by trading in their existing iPhones.

Exploring the iPhone Duo

The iPhone Duo features an advanced camera system designed to take advantage of its foldable form factor.

Its 48MP Fusion Main camera captures sharp images with zero shutter lag, while an integrated optical-quality 2x Telephoto capability allows users to get closer to their subjects.

The device also features a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera for capturing wider scenes and macro photography. Its Center Stage front camera can automatically capture photos and videos in any orientation, eliminating the need to rotate the device for landscape selfies.

A new FaceTime camera positioned beneath the inner display enables users to make video calls whether the iPhone Duo is unfolded or propped up on a surface for hands-free conversations.

The expansive inner display is designed to enhance productivity through Split View multitasking and seamless app switching. The redesigned iOS experience adapts to the device's form factor, adjusting the interface as the phone folds, changes orientation or switches between displays.

Apple is encouraging customers to prepare for pre-orders in advance to secure their preferred configuration.

Customers can configure their devices, select accessories, obtain financing or leasing pre-approval where available, and arrange trade-ins ahead of the launch.

According to Apple, customers who save their selections to their shopping bags before 9.30 am IST on Friday, October 16, can complete their purchases with a single click when pre-orders open at 5.30 pm IST the same day.

Apple Specialists will also assist customers with trade-in offers, savings options and data transfers through its Personal Setup service.

Accessories Designed for iPhone Duo

Apple is introducing new accessories to complement the foldable smartphone.

The iPhone Duo Folio will be available in navy blue and taupe. It features an integrated kickstand that supports multiple viewing angles for reading, watching content and making FaceTime calls. The kickstand folds away when not in use.

The iPhone Duo Case will be offered in sand and navy blue. Apple describes it as a thin and lightweight protective case featuring a two-part design that covers both sides of the device.

Both accessories support MagSafe, Qi2 25W and Qi-certified wireless chargers. Their built-in magnets are designed to align with the device and enable convenient attachment and wireless charging.

AppleCare Protection for iPhone Duo

AppleCare plans offer protection against accidental damage, including drops and spills, with theft and loss coverage available in certain regions.

Depending on availability, customers can choose AppleCare+ or AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss for the iPhone Duo.

AppleCare One Individual, where available, offers benefits similar to AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss at the same monthly price while extending coverage to two additional devices.
