Kolkata/IBNS: Around 200 women drivers and navigators in 50 cars will showcase their driving skills at “Aparajita”, an all-women car rally organised by the Ladies Circle of Dakshin Kolikata Sangsad (DKS) to celebrate International Women’s Day in Kolkata on Sunday (the International Women's Day).

Briefing media persons, DKS Ladies Circle mentor Debjani Chatterjee said the rally aims to highlight women’s empowerment, confidence, teamwork and leadership. The event will be conducted in the Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) rally format.

Speaking on the occasion, organising committee member Anusree Sheth said the rally has been named “Aparajita” and will feature two categories—one for DKS members and another open category where any woman can participate.

She added that “Aparajita” is more than just a rally. “It is a statement of solidarity and strength, encouraging women from all walks of life to come together, drive forward with confidence and celebrate their collective spirit,” she said.

Debarati Sinha Chanda, representing the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) in the organising committee, said the rally is being organised as a grassroots motorsport event in association with FMSCI. The rally will cover around 30 kilometres within the city, starting at 8:30 am and concluding around 12:30 pm.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in both categories, while all participants will receive mementos. Special trophies will also be given to the youngest and oldest participants.
