Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez, 60-year-old Argentine, shatters stereotypes to clinch Miss Universe Buenos Aires Beauty Pageant

60-year-old Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez shattered the stereotypes to win the Miss Universe Buenos Aires Beauty Pageant on Wednesday, media reports said.

Rodriguez, who comes from Buenos Aires' capital city La Plata, is also a senior lawyer and journalist.

She became the first woman of this age to win the coveted title.

"I am thrilled to be representing this new paradigm in beauty pageants because we are inaugurating a new stage in which women are not only physical beauty but another set of values," Rodriguez told media quoted by NDTV.

Earlier, women in the age bracket of 18-28 could only enter the contest but last year, the Miss Universe organisation lifted the limit facilitating any women aged 18 or more to participate.
