US airstrike kills 2 Taliban leaders in Afghanistan

Kabul, July 30 (IBNS): Two Taliban leaders were killed during an airstrike conducted by the US in Afghanistan's western Farah province, media reports said on Tuesday.

The Provincial Police Headquarters in a statement said a U.S. airstrike killed Mullah Badar, a senior Taliban leader who was facilitating weapons and munitions supply to Taliban militants, reported Khaama Press.

The statement further added that the airstrike also killed another Taliban commander Mullah Amruddin and his two militants, reported the news agency.

According to media reports, the U.S. forces conducted the airstrike in Peyur Village of Bala Bolok district.

At least 40 weapons were destroyed due to the airstrike.
