Trump in Epstein files, he should be impeached: Friend-turned-foe Elon Musk 'drops big bomb'

Washington DC/IBNS: In an ugly public confrontation, billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday said his friend-turned-foe US President Donald Trump should be impeached and "dropped a big bomb" claiming the Republican was in the Epstein files.

In an X post, Musk wrote, "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"

"Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."

In another post, the Tesla CEO agreed to one user's view that Trump should be impeached and get replaced by Vice-President JD Vance.

The user writes, "President vs Elon. Who wins? My money's on Elon. Trump should be impeached and JD Vance should replace him."

Musk quoted the X post saying, "Yes."

Who was Jeffery Epstein and what are Epstein files?

The Epstein files are a huge collection of documents related to the criminal activities of Jeffery Epstein, who was a child sex offender and trafficker.

Epstein was accused of raping young girls, trafficking minor girls for the sexual gratification of top politicians, celebrities.

In 2005, the Florida Police started probing into the conduct of Epstein, who started his career as a teacher and turned to banking and finance, after a parent accused him of sexually abusing her 14-year-old daughter.

Police found Epstein sexually abused as many as 36 young girls. He pleaded guilty on two counts and was convicted in 2008.

Though he was controversially released from prison early, Epstein was arrested again in 2019 for sex trafficking minors in New York and Florida.

The Epstein Files contains documents, contact lists, call records, names of Epstein's associates.

The US Department of Justice had in February 2025 revealed Trump was among many other influential people found in Epstein's contact list.

The US government has, however, so far released only select records of the Epstein Files.

Trump-Musk discord

Despite sharing a strong bond, tech billionaire Elon Musk's friendship with Donald Trump has hit an all-time low, with the former slamming the US President repeatedly over the 'One Big Beautiful Bill'.

Trump, meanwhile, said he was very disappointed with Musk over his criticism of the bill.

"I'm very disappointed with Elon. I've helped him a lot. He knew the inner workings of the bill better than anybody sitting here. He had no problem with it. All of a sudden he had a problem & he only developed the problem when he found out we're going to cut EV mandate," Trump said while speaking to the American press.

In response, Musk said Trump would have lost the 2024 Presidential elections without his support.

Musk said, "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate...Such ingratitude."

After disagreeing with President Trump behind closed doors, Musk quit the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) last week.
