Peshawar: One killed in PIA plane firing

Peshawar, June 25 (IBNS) A woman was killed and two others were injured when unidentified gunmen fired at a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane at the Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar city of Pakistan, said reports on Wednesday.

PIA flight PK-756, with 178 passengers onboard and arriving from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, was about to land when the militants started firing indiscriminately.

"A PIA official said a female passenger and two flight stewards were injured in the firing incident and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The female passenger succumbed to her injuries later," reported Pakistan based Geo News.

Security forces have cordoned off the airport and its surrounding areas and launched a search operation.
